Phil47gwr
Hi, I've just taken possession of Hornby's Tyseley Connection (bargain from Rails of Sheffield) and the loco, Pitchford Hall, has a plug-in connection between loco and tender. This is new to me though I can see why it might be a good idea to aid smooth running. Hornby recommend a special tool, X6468, but I wondered if this is necessary. I would be glad of anyone sharing their experience of this type of connector. I also intend to fit a Lenz decoder - looks straightforward on paper? Is it? TIA PS Lovely model. chriscleveland
Hi I have several models with the plugs from Hornby stock I don't use the tools but tweezers seem to do the job and sometimes a small flat blade screwdriver on the sides to carefully leaver the plug back out then tweezers again Hope this helps Chris
Phil47gwr
Thanks. Took a look at the Hornby tool and, as you imply, it's just as pair of tweezers with hooked ends.
chriscleveland
It's always a bit tricky to take out but with a steady hand and patience it will pop out
