Jonseyt23
Hello After having bought a Bachmann Class 158 with directional lights over the weekend, I decided to look into putting directional lights onto my other Loco's. After looking on the internet I am getting conflicting views on the need for blocking diodes. Are these realy nessesary as after taking apart the Class 158 the only thing on this is two 470Ω resistors I managed to get a rear set installed on my Pacer last night, using two 1k resistors I had lying about, they lit up when running, but with bad flickering, which the Class 158 dosen't do. Would this be down to the pickups on the wheels? if so whats the best way to get them really clean?
DCB
Probably putting the clear and red LEDs in inverse parallel will be enough but don't forget the red lights at the rear should be off when pulling a train which complicates matters
