Comer Road Bridge for Stourhampton

Recommended Posts

Comer road crosses the Worcester to Hereford line 1/4 mile West of Henwick level crossing in the suburb of St Johns, Worcester.  The bridge plate says 1883, the houses and shops nearby look to be of a similar age.  It has brick abutments and two narrow piers in the 10' ways between the main lines and the sidings to either side.  The deck is made of iron girders, not sure if cast or forged, brick parapets and limestone pad stones and copings. Photo survey here.

I have built a card model of it using Scalescenes brown brick printed on "ivory" 80GSM paper.  The copings and pad stones are paper wraps cut from a sheet of the same paper printed with 50% black in Paint.net.  My bridge is asymmetric, crossing 3 track not 4.  Some construction sketches (with an aborted freelance design idea) and construction photos here.

Hope this is of interest.
