West Cliff

This my layout "West Cliff" and it was constructed very much as a "see what happens" kind of thing! With a vague plan in my head and a bedroom full of wood it just kind of came together. I've learned a lot whilst building it, most importantly that planning is key lol. I'll be changing out the port which just unhooks for a TMD so i can store the ever growing collection of locos. Hopefully I'll be having a large garden room built in summer ready for THE project (much to the missus' excitement) but until then i'll keep adding to this and hopefully improve my modelling ability.

I've added some more up to date videos to you tube along with a tutorial video showing the cargowaggons being weathered, I'm hoping to add a new video each week using simple to follow techniques. The link to the channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPzcrY7lRqH_hwDTaoRjMOQ

The uncoupling is done with Dapol easy shunt couplings and neodymium magnets. I'm thinking of weathering some CDA china clay hoppers in my next tutorial but if anyone has a better idea feel free to share.

Thanks for looking

The layout is looking good, where did you get the battleship from?

It's a Revell kit of an American Fletcher class destroyer and one of the few large ships that I could find in 1/144 scale, I believe that its out of production now though. They still pop up from time to time on the bay at a reasonable price.
