Seuthe 117 Smoke Unit for Building

Can someone tell me where the oil goes on the above, not sure if it goes down the metal tube or around it? The instructions are a bit vague.

Checking the Gaugemaster website I see the 117 is a rectangular box type.

 

If you mean the tube in the middle of the box you would be hard pressed to fill it as it's the heating element like you would find in a electric kettle.

 

So you just fill the box, but don't fill it to the top the smoke effects not that good until it burns down to around the element if you do.
