Lima Mk3 buffet dismantling

Recommended Posts

Hi

Apologies for starting yet another thread on dismantling these coaches, however I have been having a little problem whilst trying to dismantle mine today. The bogies and the clip on parts for the corridor connections have come off easily, however the chassis doesn't want to budge. I can get the middle to move out easily, but then the two ends bend worryingly far and do not move, and I do not want to push any harder for fear of snapping them. Is there something I am missing?

Many thanks

Hi There,

You should be taking the roof/glazing off before you try and take the black underframe/chassis off.

This will allow the flexibility that the chassis needs to take it off.

It will alos enable you to get to the lugs that hold it in place if it turns out to be an awkward one.

I've found some of the Lima Mk3's to have been stuck together - even though they were only meant to be clip together!

Be careful when removing the roof glazing as the plastic used tends to become less flexible and more prone to cracking with age.

Thanks
