Bachmann class 57/6

Am I right in thinking that the only versions of Bachmanns class 57/6 in either FGW blue or lined Brunswick Green have both been limited editions?

Hi D5541,

 

I believe that is so:

 

1. The FGW blue was a Kernow MRC model (57605 'Totnes Castle').

2. The Brunswick Green one was a Rail Express / Didcot Great Western Society model of 57604 'Pendennis Castle' due to the link with the steam loco of the same name at Didcot GWS.  Model details here: http://www.railexclusive.com/index.php?category=127

 

Of course, there has been an FGW blue one in 'N' of 57605.

 

Additionally, there has also been FGW green - as 57602 'Restormel Castle' by Bachmann, though Heljan did three of the four I gather, i.e. 57602/604/605.

57601 was provided by Bachmann as a Bachmann Collectors Club model in Porterbrook purple/silver and in WCRC for Model Rail.

Thanks for clarifying that :-) I'm picking up 602 next week and got 603 in GWR on order, then decided I needed 604 and 605 to complete the set of Western ones..

 

Plenty of 602 on eBay atm, may be easier to buy a couple of extras and get the paint brushes out :-)
