simon47603
There are usually around 4 Freight Trains a day to & from Onllwyn Washery. Out and back turns to Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen Opencast and to Aberthaw Power Station. If you look on Realtimetrains advanced search for Neath N & B Jn. RMweb Gold Andy7 Posted September 3, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 3, 2016 not for me as the only seven sisters it gives me is the one in london It will, look on a map and find the nearest stations in each direction. Fat Controller
It will, look on a map and find the nearest stations in each direction. Do a bit of detective work. There aren't any stations- the line branches off the Swansea District Line, which hasn't had any open stations since the late 1950s. You could try looking for services from Jersey Marine South Junction to Onllwyn, though there won't be many. A previous contributor mentioned services from Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, bringing in coal for 'preparation', and one for Aberthaw, taking coal out: has the service carrying containerised coal for 'Celtic Energy stopped? simon47603
This was yesterday's train plan to and from Onllywn Washery. They would have passed through Severn Sisters to and from the Washery. The Aberthaw train did not run though. http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced/NEATNBJ/2016/09/02/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt Edited September 3, 2016 by simon47603

RMweb Premium njee20 Posted September 3, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 3, 2016 I noticed there were about 9 scheduled workings on Monday, but I think most were 'runs as required', and weren't required!
John_Miles
I believe Aberthaw is mothballed for the summer, will probably reopen when the dark nights return.
