"Later with Jools Holland" intro

Jools Holland was the inadvertent founder of the Eddie Stobart fan club!

After completing quite a lengthy tour of the UK, he was looking for thankyou presents for his roadies. As they'd seen a lot of Stobart trucks on their travels, he hit on the idea of asking Stobarts if they had any publicity calendars he could give as gifts. Stobarts sent him a dozen or so calendars for free.

Jools was so surprised by their generosity in not charging him that he gave them a "shout out" on one of his TV shows.

Of course the upshot from that was that lots of people started writing to Stobarts asking for free calendars - to the extent that even writing back to say "Sorry, no more free calendars" was costing Stobarts a fortune in postage! But they were canny enough to spot the market and set up their own merchandising range and fan club.
