railroadbill
Came across this via another forum. The intro to Jools Holland's "later with.." program, which I haven't watched for a long time, is now this. Very well done, very amusing and worth a look. Only a few seconds. Can you spot the Airfix W H Smiths kiosk?http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... -episode-

RJS1977
Jools Holland was the inadvertent founder of the Eddie Stobart fan club! After completing quite a lengthy tour of the UK, he was looking for thankyou presents for his roadies. As they'd seen a lot of Stobart trucks on their travels, he hit on the idea of asking Stobarts if they had any publicity calendars he could give as gifts. Stobarts sent him a dozen or so calendars for free. Jools was so surprised by their generosity in not charging him that he gave them a "shout out" on one of his TV shows. Of course the upshot from that was that lots of people started writing to Stobarts asking for free calendars - to the extent that even writing back to say "Sorry, no more free calendars" was costing Stobarts a fortune in postage! But they were canny enough to spot the market and set up their own merchandising range and fan club.
