LTechG
Rebuilding a Hornby class 87 with the new skew-wound motor and working lights. Need a chassis but can't locate one. Does anyone have one spare? Regards Barry
298
If you're planning to go to that much effort, why not use a Hornby 90 chassis bits, possibly with Heljan Hymek or Bachmann Warship bogies and a central motor...? The Lima/Hornby bogies are too short and make it the worst RTR loco in recent production.
NickL2008
Agreed, the Hornby motor whilst ok, isn't the best motor and especially if youre planning for your 87 to haul or push a decent rake of coaches plus the DVT as well. Worth noting that the Warship Chassis requires 3' 8" wheels to replace the underscale ones supplied NL
