springs branch Posted November 12, 2016 Share Posted November 12, 2016 On November 11th 2016, Freightliner named 66418 Patriot - in memory of fallen railway employees. This was the brainchild of a serving Corporal in the Armed Forces. His idea is to get class 66 operators to name a class 66 after names previously carried in honour of fallen employees in conflict. A n gauge model will be produced by Dapol and sold via Revolution Models and profits will then go to one of the armed forces Benevolent funds. 66418 is linked to the ABF - the Soldiers' charity and carries their plaque.
