RMweb Premium uax6 Posted November 13, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 13, 2016 Yes, when the tramway system in Liverpool closed, the remaining trams were taken to Kirby yard and (with the aid of boiler plate) swung off the tramway and onto the railway sidings. They were kept there before being scrapped. For more info try and get hold of Liverpool Corporation Transport Vol 4. Andy G

Marshall5
The loco is one of the Kirkby Trading Estate Drewry '04 lookalikes'. After the railway shut in the late 70's the two locos, in perfect working order, were taken by road to a yard on the Dock Rd. where the Gardner engines were removed for use in Chinese junks and the rest scrapped.
