stock_2007
This may sound silly but the Bachmann autotrailer W231W the preserved one would it be a major job to back date it to a GWR running date. The photos I have are black/white and don't show a lot of detail. As always any help is very welcome
RMweb Gold john dew Posted January 28, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 28, 2017 I think the problem is that it never ran in GWR livery.....ie it was introduced post nationalisation I have to say I am very tempted to buy one and just ignore history......I wouldn't try and alter it Regards
Miss Prism
Probably best to continue, if necessary, in the existing thread: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/96594-Bachmann-hawksworth-autocoach/
K14
Keeping with the 'inaccurate but as preserved' theme, 231 has worn at least one ersatz GWR livery , a glimpse of which can be seen here:— https://www.flickr.com/photos/superheater/6846372323/ I've a hazy recollection that it wore a pseudo-Hawksworth livery too, but can't find a photo that shows it. To recreate either would need the W231W removing and an extra waistline adding - the lettering for either version is available from either Fox or HMRS.
