Poor Old Bruce
Can't you get a military green from wherever wargamers get theirs from? BMC did cars in (IIRC) 'Tundra' green which may have been somewhere near but that was 45 years ago.
twiggy1969
not sure that it is military green as photos ive looked at seems very close to br green so was hoping someone would know what colour it was painted https://c1.staticflickr.com/2/1469/24109605959_b6e167f317_b.jpg mark
Nearholmer
Looks like my old Landrover! Vallejo Bronze Green? K
RMweb Premium New Haven Neil Posted February 10, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 10, 2017 I'd say that was a good match myself, nearholmer. It certainly wasn't BR green, it was a muddier colour.
Nearholmer
There is a suggestion on the web by a professional paint consultant that the post-WW2 army green was .... BS381C 224 Deep Bronze Green, which was also the colour used by Landrover ...... so my slightly tongue-in-cheek response may have been correct! BR Loco green was very similar, IIRC BS381C 226 or 227 [edit: no it wasn't ..... it was middle chrome Green, which I think, but am not certain, was BS381C 266] Tricky colours though: I had a 16mm/ft scale loco that was painted deep Bronze Green, and it looked a lot "greener" than the Landrover, until you stood it on the bonnet, at which point it became obvious that they were the same ...... something to do with reflections, different degrees of gloss etc. K Edited February 17, 2017 by Nearholmer
