Chameleon
I'm over in Germany this weekend for the Dortmund show. There is a rail tour going from Bochum to various freight and coal lines on Saturday. Wish I'd thought about buying tickets for it. Is there a site like the UK mainline steam pages where German tours and times are listed? It would be nice to do some line siding and steam train chasing on the Saturday.
RMweb Premium 5944 Posted April 5, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 5, 2017 The only site that I've seen regularly post railtour times is this one on Facebook. Not all of them are posted however, and if they are, it's often the day before. https://www.facebook.com/Sonderz%C3%BCge-in-Deutschland-1625479881063739/
EddieB
The Lok Report website lists special trips under the "termine" section, usually with a link to the operator's site for more information. http://www.lok-report.de/termine/termine_april.html Details of the rail tour can be found at http://www.eisenbahnmuseum-bochum.de/mobile/smartphone/sonderfahrten/oeffentliche-tagessonderfahrten/themenfahrt-abschied-von-der-kohle---08042017.php - but I see it has fully sold out. Fluo66
This page gives also an overview of many events: http://www.eisenbahn-planer.de/?page=&lang=en Probably it is not complete but you can filter the list by interest and region. A few events are translated to english.
RMweb Gold rodent279 Posted April 11, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 11, 2017 Slightly OT, is there a German equivalent of realtime trains?
