lofty1966
Having recently learned that the Dapol Ale wagon is a work of fiction and after a study of a pic in Russells freight wagons tome, my thoughts turned to grafting on some Coopercraft sides and chassis to a slightly (3mm) shortened Dapol body and roof. Sides were cut off at the corners with razor saw at 45° Roof then had 3mm cut out of the centre and glued back together. Coopercraft sides were then fettled to fit and new buffer beams added out of some spare Cambrian centres and Plasticard outers. Buffers are Lanarkshire Models excellent whitemetal castings . The Coopercraft floor ,chassis and modified brakegear were then added. A couple of plasticard packers were inserted to keep the sides from bowing.
