RMweb Premium keefer Posted August 11, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 11, 2017 (edited) The SR design 2HAP had 1 toilet at the inner end of the DTC, fed from the 1st class corridor. The BR design unit had 2 toilets in the middle of the DTC - one for 1st class and one for 2nd class. There was no through passage between 1st class compartments and 2nd class saloon. The EPB had no toilets at all SR 2HAP (414) - DMBS 84S DTC 18F/38S BR 2HAP (414) - DMBS 84S DTC 18F/50S SR 2EPB (416) - DMBS 84S DTS 94S BR 2EPB (416) - DMBS 84S DTS 102S BR Tyneside design 2EPB - DMBS 74S DTS 102S (info from railway-centre.com, don't have my other books to check) IIRC the total seating in the EPB units could vary according to the internal layout, depending whether there were non-corridor compartments or open saloons. mike hughes
Some of the BR 2-EPB's had gangways fitted in later life, pretty sure they were renumbered 6401-19 Michael
