GWR AEC Railmotors on the LNER

Recommended Posts

Hello all, now am I dreaming, or did I once read about two GWR AEC Railmotors that were loaned/evaluated/tried out, on the LNER?? OIf they were, what liveries did they carry, and where-a-bouts did they serve?

Once again I'm sure the RM Webbers will know the answer, and once again, many thanks in advance for all replies/help given.

Railcar N° 19 was used in regular traffic by the LNER in Apr-May '42, not sure where. It apparently kept its GW livery.

I also recall that another GW railcar hit LNER metals though this in time in BR ownership - early 50s IIRC...dilbert

One was trialled in Lincolnshire in 1952, as shown in the first photo here: http://www.leytransp....com/npaper.htm.
