wombatofludham Posted October 10, 2017 Share Posted October 10, 2017 (edited) Happy Birthday to Barmouth Bridge, 150 today, well most of it is although the swing bridge was built later to replace a rather curious drawbridge. Today a special charter hauled by the two NR yellow peril Class 97s visited and this Saturday and Sunday there are birthday events in town (rather unfortunately called the Barmouth Bridge Bash, which a rogue sailing yacht managed to do last month)including fireworks (hopefully away from the bridge, we don't want another fire) and a model show in the Leisure Centre Saturday and Sunday, 10-4pm, free admission, including a visit from the stunning O gauge model of the bridge which has been on the circuit.
