Theakerr
On Ken Patterson's Whats Neat Podcast youtu.be/Q2-PhDszKTk he references a new point configuration from Micro Engineering that appears to offer more storage sidings by Design Clever Points from Micro Engineering. Said points are not shown on Micro Engineering's website but are on Walther's and schematics that show how the system works are here http://www.crusaderrail.com/pubs/mec_temp_14-716.pdf They are code 83 but bearing in mind the wider loading gauge on US outlines the track spacing generated will almost certainly work on 4mm rolling stock. Especially, if the storage sidings are on straight sections. Whilst I suspect that the concept is known to individuals who lay their own track work I had never seen it before and think the concept is brilliant. FYI Ken Patterson said in his Podcast that he will be doing a comparison between these points and regular ones to see how many more sidings are possible in his next Podcast.
