Lochinver. N gauge boxfile

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Having lurked on here for a while, and started and failed to complete a layout to date. I thought I’d have a go at a box file layout which can be easily stored and taken on holiday in our caravan. The catalyst for this is missing the winter climbing and skiing season due to being a muppet and falling off an ice climb in Scotland in January. Being originally from Aberdeen, Scottish railways have always held an interest, especially the Highland Main Line, and the Far North line. I admit to not knowing much about them, but every one seams to do the West Coast. I do have a soft spot for this as well! If this layout gets completed, I may I may be able to run modern image, or my favourite era of large logo around the mid 80’s.

I thought I’d do my interpretation of the just supposing of Lochinver. This is my first DCC layout, which kind of set the era as the only DCC fitted locomotive I could find was a class 26 in green, so I’ve set the time scale between 1969 and 1972.

I am still thinking about what to do with some bits, but it’s being built for a bit of fun, I’m not overly bothered about some operational accuracy, so long as it look reasonably as if I should be right.
