w124bob
I have 3 of these 2 are all ready bodged to fit a Lenz direct decoder, however I understand NCE do a 9pin(D15SRP) the 8pin harness is removable, which plugs direct into the wiring harness. Are NCE decoders any good, l have no experince with this brand. Edited March 7, 2018 by w124bob
F-UnitMad
Not sure about the exact decoder you need; but I have used NCE DA-SR decoders in HO and they were fine. They need hard-wire soldering, rather than having a pin connector. In fact I've even used that type in a couple of twin-motor Atlas O locos, with the motors wired in series. I've also used a larger NCE D408SR decoder in another O loco; again, no problems at all. My control system is NCE Powercab, but I doubt that makes any difference. scouser
Hi, I've fitted NCE decoders in Athearn blue box locks (hard wired) and I really like them. Paul
