kingfisher24
I previously posted a question regarding weed killing trains in the 50’s and 60’s. I am thinking about doing a weed killing train to run at shows on my clubs Newcastleton layout. I have a rough idea as to the formation of a typical weed killing train but from what photos i can find, they are all different, using various types of old tenders tanker wagons and vans etc. But which would run north of the border is what i am wondering. I have found some shots of the north eastern region train in 63 using a couple of old gresley coaches and four ex lner tenders in the formation. Now this would do and be doable using some kirk kits i have lying around and some replica/Bachmann ex lner tenders as a basis but. Would this train have been used north of the border and into southern scotland up to edinburgh or would they stick strictly to their own regions???? And help or and suggestions would be appreciated.
