Provenance of Britannia painted on wood?

I was given this some years ago. A Britannia pacific painted onto a shaped piece of plywood, pretty old, judging by the "patina" of the bare wood back surface. It is about 30 inches long.

 

Is it just an amateur painting, or were copies produced to publicise a model, or even the real thing?

Just a thought but you say it is on plywood - could it be a component of a jigsaw?
