Trev520
I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 for some years to organise my photographs. It has a major benefit to me of allowing you to view photographs in a date view and also allowing you to add text to the day. This lets me record details of trips etc which is really useful. Having upgraded my PC the program is not working well so I am looking to replace. I already have Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 which has lost this feature replacing it with "events ". Has anyone got any suggestions for software to use. For info I have about 60,000 images covering 60 years to organise. Any ideas welcome Trevor
RMweb Premium Ian J. Posted July 8, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 8, 2018 Many years ago I used ThumbsPlus, I found it very good, though it's not free. It's still around today, even in these days of smartphones and 'apps' - http://www.cerious.com/

RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted July 8, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 8, 2018 PSE9 should work on Windows 10 - try reinstalling it, right click the installer and run it in Windows 7 compat. mode.
RMweb Gold unravelled Posted July 8, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 8, 2018 I still use Picasa, which allows captions, descriptions and tags to be added, (as EXIF data). to photos, either singly or in batches. Although abandoned by Google, it is still available as a download and works well on Windows 10. However, it may stop working in the future, and I'm also looking for an alternative.
