When I first arrived up here [44 years ago now] I worked with a colleague who frequently called others, 'Honey', without the 'H'...not sure what part of the surrounding 100 miles he came from? I often come across my local GP in the equally local [& cheap!] supermarket....I believe the last thing he ever asks anyone [when greeted in such an environment]....is, "hello, how are you"?
