Came across this by accident on Youtube - some good shots of traveling on RDCs and terrific scenery. The commentator's attitude is of its time as well...

Lovely to see the old PGE (Prince George Eventually) in action. Movie probably made soon after the last section was completed (between Horseshoe Bay and Squamish) in the 1950s. This line was started in 1912! Subsequently, as British Columbia Railway, it completed lines through to far north (Fort Nelson) and branches to Dease Lake and (electrified!) to the coal mine at Tumbler Ridge. PGE had an all Alco/MLW roster. Only under BC Rail did they start buying SD40-2s and then the Draper Taper Dash-8s. So sad to see it subverted under CN. (CJL)
