Hi there guys, just picked up a bargain Lima Super Guv that frankly was a massacre of paint! So I thought I'd strip it back and detail the chassis so if fitted MJT buffers from dart castings! The paints thick on the body so a full strip down will be required.

As you can see the body's coated in it, so while I buy some nitromors (typically ran out) I started on the buffer beam

As you can see much nicer looking buffers, the pack only costs £4 I believe and as per the photos I have here's the painted buffers

NO NOT Nitromors  . You won't have a body to detail just some melted plastic .

I don't leave it on, I've got a good method of applying it then 3 mins later rubbing it of with a microfibres towel, just to take the thick layer off then a good rub with white spirit takes it to the bare plastic!

Methylated Spirits for the paint - the purple kind.

I have a tub I drop the shells into and leave them for a while if needed - scrub with the toothbrush as the paint comes right off.

So after the whole process of cleaning and stripping the paint, I stupidly cut a whole using the knife.....so after a few choice words I've decided to scratch build the sides....look forward too updates!!
