  1. So after the whole process of cleaning and stripping the paint, I stupidly cut a whole using the knife.....so after a few choice words I've decided to scratch build the sides....look forward too updates!!
  2. Right, not a problem! Thank you for the advice
  3. Yeh, I just didn't understand the use of both motors when they're different, it runs abit how should I say erratic at times what would be the best way to go about it?
  4. I don't leave it on, I've got a good method of applying it then 3 mins later rubbing it of with a microfibres towel, just to take the thick layer off then a good rub with white spirit takes it to the bare plastic!
  5. Hi there guys, just picked up a bargain Lima Super Guv that frankly was a massacre of paint! So I thought I'd strip it back and detail the chassis so if fitted MJT buffers from dart castings! The paints thick on the body so a full strip down will be required. As you can see the body's coated in it, so while I buy some nitromors (typically ran out) I started on the buffer beam As you can see much nicer looking buffers, the pack only costs £4 I believe and as per the photos I have here's the painted buffers
  6. Hi there! I'm more interested as to why the extra motor was added!, I've not got a layout as of et here's some pictures
  7. Hello all, just picked up a Lima class 92, steal at £28 and the body's fantastic! But it seems at some point another Motor has been fitted alongside the original and both are operating plus it's been DCC chipped! Has anyone had experience of this or do this as I'm abit stumbled by it I also don't really understand dcc I understand the basics but past that I'm lost!! Also anyone know how to add pictures as I've got pics!! And lastly anyone know of any cast buffers or am I better of making my own true rectangle buffers?
  8. Fantastic shot! That's great!! Super, it's giving me some ideas, fantastic shot for weathering!!
  9. Great thanks for the advice I've just ordered a set of retracted buffers, two of my coaches are in br blue, I'm sure I've seen BR blue coaches with intercity white branding on where they run with the black grey and red intercity livery? If so is there any pictures about?
  10. Thanks for the advice, seemingly my mk3s have no buffers and I think new bogies are needed do you have any ideas where I can find buffer kits and bogies from! Also is there s place I can get the brake discs on the wheel sets
  11. Thanks I have Hornby/Lima mk3s hoping that I can get bufers and pipework and get them looking close as possible to realistic! I could do with some reference pictures or is they're any publications available that can give a good reference! Is there any specific locos during intercity grey red and black that mk3s ran with I suspect class87s but could anyone give any idea on this?
  12. Hi all, I'm trying to make a full rake of mk3 coaches up with a loco just wondered if anyone's got good reference photos and upgrades they could share!
