AberDG
Hi Guys, Many thanks for the Marchwood pictures and further information on the operations. A lot of inspiration there. Cheers, John
Flood
Going back to the original post I have scanned an enlarged area of the freightliner crates (as opposed to containers) in the Paul Shannon photo. Does anyone know of any better photos/drawings of this style of crate? Thanks in advance.
tombaker66
Went into Marchwood as part of the Gbrf 2021 railtour last week and saw the following wagons. would anyone happen to have the previous German numbers for the MODA 98xxx's? we went in and came back on the same line so missed at least 2 or 3 rows behind the blast walls unfortunately. Fat Controller
Somewhere, I have a copy of the fax which was sent prior to the repatriated wagons being despatched. 81 wagons were sent in total, in 3 trains of 27 wagons each. The fax gives the formation of each train, as well as a dimensioned sketch. When I find it, I'll scan it and put it on here. Those steel-bodied opens look as they've been converted from standard 13t OWVs, with entirely new bodies. Not sure why they bothered with the diagonal strapping. There were a large number of both BR and PO air-braked vans which received extensive mods at Marcroft's in Stoke: I wonder what became of them? RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted September 7, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 7, 2021 (edited) Total rewrite after a rummage in the garage produced the box and the flat bed - but no more - yet! This is the container that came with the Foden low mobility 8x4 flat bed truck 1/76th resin kit made by CMSC (Continental Model Supply Company). As with many of my projects I obviously didn't finish it. ..and a new photo with the box the right way up and the other two sides visible Edited September 7, 2021 by phil_sutters Inaccurate description and poor photo
