Coromar
I have some Peco wagon wheels ( 3ft 1in ) with bent axles. I tried to buy some replacement ones from Peco who said they could only supply ones they had taken apart for me at £4 a set (2 axles and 4 bearings ) As Slaters provide bearings at £8 for 20, and axles at 59p each, these Peco ones seem very expensive. Does anyone know where I can get Peco sized bearings and Axles at a better price?
doilum
If you have a dremel or similar, buy a length of steel to match the peco axle and make your own. A length of carefully cut brass tube will help keep back to back correct. Unless you have lots to do new ones will be cheaper when you take in the cost of superglue. Western Star
The wheels that Peco supplies in their 7mm kits come from Slaters Plastikard. The price per axle from Slater's seems reasonable to me.
Coromar
Thank you for your replies. It seems Peco and Slaters are different sizes where the wheels slide on. I do not have a lathe, so could not turn down a length of rod to fit. Any other information welcome. Best wishes, Paul
