Clearwater
I was at a corporate event tonight that showcased some virtual reality technology. One of the things you could watch was this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/guides/zk3cmfr It's a digitisation of a September 1943 bomber raid where the journalist Wynford Vaughan-Thomas commentated. It was incredibly immersive. Felt like you could reach out and touch the pilot. As you stood up, you could see the "out" of the plane. If you get the chance to watch it with a good VR googles, I'd highly recommend it. David
RMweb Premium Reorte Posted February 6, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 6, 2019 (edited) Ooh, I'll have to give that a go later. Hope someone does something similar for old (non-wartime though) railways. edit: Just been through it, did a good job with that. There's great potential with VR for this sort of experience (I liked the Apollo 11 one too), and whilst it can't compare with having to go through it for real it certainly gives an immediacy that even the best books and films cannot.
