Rapido F40PH-2D arrives

I've just taken delivery of Rapido F40PH-2D No. 6434 and very nice it is, too. As they are the mainstay of VIA power, out west at least, I've got to know them quite well. Didn't like them when they replaced the FP9s etc, but I've grown to like them. I had a Walthers cheapie one in VIA colours which I replaced with Rapido 6415 when it came along. I then asked Jason if he was going to do the 'rebuilds'. "No chance, there's only you and two other guys who model current VIA Rail," was pretty much the reply. So the retired Walthers unit got a rebuild and became 6416. It wasn't so long after I'd finished that extensive rebuild that I found myself pre-ordering the Rapido model. In the meantime my F40 fleet has risen to five with a Kato unit repainted by Dave Lowery into the Agawa Canyon Tour Train livery and another old Walthers model (bought for repainting into VIA colours) which I've repainted into Tshuetin Rail pale blue.
