Jack P
Hi guys Is anyone able to shed some light on when the SECR - specifically on birdcage coaches, changed from the smaller type of roof ventilator to the bigger torpedo type? Excuse the model photos, as opposed to prototype, but these are the two types i'm referring to!
Wickham Green
You'll have to refer to the Gould or Coutanche books to see if there's a pattern : there are certainly references to particular types of vent being fitted to a number of batches but I'm not sure it's a to/from a certain date matter ........ there were - and still are, in preservation - vehicles with mixed vents so it's back to the old 'dated photograph' if you want to be exact !
