Western Star
Thank you for the drawing of the 9'0" bogie. Since the original post I have become aware of the existance of the required drawings in John Lewis's collection of GWR Coach Drawings (Pub. Wild Swan) wherein can be found the 9'0" as above and the 8'0" version. However, the 8'0" drawing does not provide details of the coil spring between the solebar and the compensating beam - anyone any information on the number of turns? outside diameter? What may help is a photo of a prototype 8'0" American bogie as that is the version which was retro-fitted to the F16 double slips (which is being built from CPL etches) - at least I can count the number of turns! regards, Graham

Western Star
Now that link is really useful, ought to be able to make a coil spring for my 7mm model (the bogie kit from MM1 - ex JLTRT - does not include the coil spring).
