Fairly obvious what the two steam locos are but does anyone know what the 0-8-0 diesel is? It says it’s battery powered but I can’t make out what is stamped on the underside of the chassis. Nearholmer
New-ray, made in China. Could be a model of a Chinese loco, or a rip-off, probably of a German product, so I would look for a German prototype. It might be vaguely inspired by the DR V60, or something industrial. jonny777
I suppose if you squinted through wrong way round binoculars, you could believe the 0-8-0 was Taurus.
Il Grifone
It would appear to be intended to be one of these:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DB_Class_V_65 These Chinese 'models' tend to be OK for their intended purpose as toys, but leave something to be desired. I have a US diesel with stikers proclaiiming 'Union Pacific'. The body is roughly H0 and not bad (but not good either) but the chassis is rubbish. The large switch will turn it on and off and possibly make it go backwards too, but don't count on that.
Nearholmer
I still think it looks more like a DR V60, which was an 0-8-0, or the confusingly similar DB V60, which was an 0-6-0, but can be taken for an 0-8-0 at first glance, but it might be a Chinese loco.

I thought that, but then realised the relative lengths either side of the cab were not quite right.

I had assumed it was a (perhaps slightly freelance) German loco, but was struggling to identify the model manufacturer. I originally thought it might be a starter/toy loco from a more well-known manufacturer, in the way that the clockwork 0-4-0 in the lot is. michl080
Morning folks, the body is clearly a west german DB V60, but the chassis is much improved. Obviously, the chinese designer thought that 0-8-0 must sell better than 0-6-0... . I know the V60, I had a ride as a ten year old boy. I'll never forget. RMweb Premium Neil Posted August 26, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 26, 2019 I have one of the diesels, it came in a set from Poundland about fifteen years ago. It will run ok on plain track but bumps over points as the flanges are rather thick.
