Hi all,

Apologies if this question has been asked before, I am looking to install a garden layout next spring that will incorporate 3 reasonable sized loops to run 3 sound fitted 00 guage locos and their trains.

What would you recommend by way of a DCC system?.

Thanks.

If they are fairly modern 00 locos (which don't need as much power as much older ones) then an NCE Power Cab will handle three at a time quite easily. In fact I have used mine to run four trains at once to amuse the grandchildren. I think that you will find a lot of people happy with this controller.

One that offers adjustable track voltage as standard. DCC is specified to run up to 22V on track. This helps combat the effect of voltage drop over the typically longer distances the bus wires have to run on an outdoor layout, and to reduce the effect of contact resistance due to damp and general 'fall out' that will be on the rails.
