I would imagine that East Didsbury (the housing) developed as a result of the opening of East Didsbury station on the Styal line (as well as the opening of the trams to Parr's Wood - now Tesco). Burnage and East Didsbury were on the LNW Piccadilly - Styal line, whilst Didsbury and West Didsbury and Withington were on the line to Central. I left my tonsils in Withington hospital. As did my father! (Back in those days it was assumed that any body part for which the medical profession had yet to discover a purpose was a 'vestigial' organ left over from evolutionary ancestors so tonsils were often removed at the slightest sign of infection as they were believed to serve no purpose, whereas now they are known to be a part of the immune system). montyburns56
I'm guessing that it's this house? If so it looks like an extension has been built at some time. https://www.google.com/maps/@53.4195954,-2.2320389,3a,75y,118.94h,97.31t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sHvr1AkxehTVFd8lmejBs4g!2e0!7i16384!8i8192
Gravy Train
Hi, yes that’s what it looks like now, I worked from a footprint of how it looked in 1959. it has had much work done to it over the years. Peter 1
