Hi Guys, we had a stunning Royal Flying Corps group come into work a few weeks ago. This week I did an interview about the group on Forces network:

Today the story got better as a photo of him taken pre war has come to light. They were a wealthy family, his Dad had a car in 1915. It goes under the hammer in two weeks time.

They also covered a first day of the Somme Diary which I discovered . Which can be seen here:

Cheers, Ade.

Having served with the Herefords at Gallipoli and the Imperial Camel Corps, with a spell in hospital on Malta with frostbite in between, my great uncle Percy Pritchard ended WW1 in the RFC. In the second World War, he was commissioned as an assault glider pilot training officer.

I have a number of photos of him in the RFC. I don't think he flew. He seems to have been a motor-cycle despatch rider at the Cairo HQ. I don't wish to hijack this thread, but if you want to see a photo of him on his service bike you can at http://www.ipernity.com/doc/philsutters/49536646/in/album/824054. There are others in the same album.
