mardle
I think in the past that mention has been made that Bachmann have placed the vacuum cylinders on the wrong side of their wagon chassis i.e. on the side with the cranked brake lever. I have been looking more closely at all my recent Bachmann wagon purchases and realised that on all the BR vans, the more recent SR vans and the very recent conflats they have also put the brake levers on the wrong sides (or the brakes depending on how you look at it). The non cranked levers should be on the side where the brakes slope up to the left, whereas they have put them on the other side. Odd as they got it right on their earlier van, conflat and 3 plank/sand tippler wagons. It is also quite difficult to correct as the v hangers and brake levers are solidly glued on. If I am right about all of this, perhaps a few calls/emails to Bachmann may persuade them to look into it and get it right on future releases. craigwelsh
The levers have been on the wrong side on quite a few mineral wagon releases too. You can slide a knife between the lever and the vee to fix. I guess the Chinese lady sticking them on isn't given a picture sometimes..
