Hi Brossard,

Thanks, yes Slaters have the W-irons/axleboxes/springs as a unit, I could cut-away/file off the moulded W-irons. I'd rather not if I can avoid it.

Hi John,

Nothing wrong with the Slaters kit, I just don't feel confident about getting four great axlebox/spring units if I have to cut/file/sand the mouldings supplied. But it looks like I may have to make the best job I can of it.

The Slater's sprue,

 

Starting with a razor saw to cutaway the W-iron and then 60 grade followed by 180 grade abrasive I cut out the first of 4 axlebox/spring units to fit the sprung W-irons.
