I think I can spot myself in the background of one of the shots The model is by Bob Barnard, part of his excellent set of 009 models of various parts of the L&B - and that is Lynton & BarnSTAPLE with a 'P' please, nothing to do with keeping horses ! Herr Dienstleiter
My stepmother travelled from Woody Bay to Barnstaple in 1936, she tells me, and I never thought to do the same but we did ... well not all the way to Barnstaple but in that general direction. There is huge amount of goodwill for this project but what they need now is the cash to take the next big step forward ... I'm afraid that in the family we refer to the line as the Woody Bay and Three Fields ... anybody got £60k for the next bridge?
