Those would be plastic centered, the all steel ones were produced long after old kirk kit. All steel is a slight misnomer, they do have plastic bushes for insulation but the wheels are steel discs with small bushes rather than steel tyres on plastic disks like the older ones.
MartinWales
Thanks for that! Out of stock at EMGS stores and cant find any DCC concepts 14mm ones Need them for a low tech low cost wheel swap on two Heljan 26's I've picked up cheap (£65/£75 respectively). But plastic ones would be usuitable .
RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted June 5, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 5, 2020 @MartinWales I’ll have a look later, think I may have some of the DCC Concepts 14mm discs in stock that are surplus to my needs. Have you tried Branchlines for 14mm Black Beetle wheels?
2mm Andy
Would the Black Beetle wheels be any use Martin? https://www.dckits-devideos.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=182_130&product_id=1060 It does mention re-wheeling Heljan locos in the text on the webpage above. Mountain Goat
What size? I have a few 14mm Romford coach wheels somewhere but they will be 00 gauge. They can be widened on their axles slightly. Not sure if they would be suitable. In 7mm narrow gauge, it is the smaller wheels like 10.5mm I am looking for. RMweb Premium t-b-g Posted June 5, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 5, 2020 I did hear tell, although I haven't tried it, that although Maygib no longer advertise or promote their railway products in any significant way that they are still in business and if you ring them up and talk to them nicely, they may either have some there or may even produce a batch to order. This was all second hand, so don't sue me if it turns out to be wrong!
