pH
Clue - there is a preserved railway to the south of this square, on the same line. There is also an operating railway to the north of the square, also on the same line. The southern line hopes to expand to include the stretch of line in this square, but will not reach the end of the northern line. (They would have trouble with running through trains, anyway!) More - there is a proposal to re-lay the line through this square as part of an 'orbital' railway.

pH
Clue - the line in this square is a through route. However, there used to be another railway which had a terminus in the town. This other railway owned two 'Terriers' (amongst other engines).
