pH
More - the world’s most powerful radio transmitter (at the time) was in the next square west. It was built to transmit into Europe during WW2. When the broadcasting station was closed, some of the equipment was re-used at Droitwich.

pH
Offchurch, east of Royal Leamington Spa: (In case anyone is wondering, 'IMS52' and 'M2715' in the clue for the last square were the pennant numbers for HMS Ottringham. Googling 'M2715' should bring HMS Ottringham up as one of the first few hits.)

dagrizz
Less than a mile to the south-east, there was one of those railway crossroads that seemed to materialise in the middle of nowhere. About three miles south of the junction is this square.
dagrizz
The line in the first square was ex-LNWR, the line in the second square wasn't. These lines met an ex-LNWR EW line at the aforementioned junction. This EW line is still in place, though disused.

pH
Clue - this narrow-gauge railway was opened in 1931, and the two engines built for the opening are still in service. A third was added later, and a fourth went into service last month. The railway is having a ‘steam weekend’ this weekend, using ‘guest’ engines.
