Roundhouse/ MDC Consolidation

Following along the lines of the Pennsylvanian Shortline, of Bertiedog.....I have re-discovered a kitbash I did nearly 20 years ago, on a Roundhouse Old time consolidation.

This was roughly based upon an article in Model Railroader March 1986, which was a freelance modernisation of the consol.

If I remember rightly, I used some Crownline cylinders, not sure which, but they had the modern, sloping profile I wanted. New pilot and truck, and a MDC/Roundhouse Vanderbilt tender [which used to be available separately]....cab was moved back somewhat with a longer roof...sorry about the broken spoiler......it has been boxed away for over 10 years..modern air pump, generator, electric [Pyle?] headlights, new footboards, etc...all conspired to enlarge the appearance of the original little engine.

Sorry about photo quality, even flattened the 4 camera batteries!

no idea why it's #27...I think I just liked the shape of the numerals.....or maybe they were all I had?
