signalmaintainer
Most modelers here in the US, and many others around the world, are familiar with Evergreen styrene sheet and strips. The founder/owner of Evergreen Scale Models, Brian Ellerby, passed away a month ago. The news was posted just a few days ago on the Trainorders.com website. His products, which entered the market almost 35 years ago, revolutionized the scratch-building facet of the hobby. Yes, styrene was available as a scratchbuilding material prior to ESM, and noted modeler Alan Armitage showed how to use it, but Brian made styrene accessible as a modeling staple. http://www.trainorde...sion/read.php?3,2195927 I was privileged to see Brian's layout (he lived in the Seattle, Washington, area) about 10 years or so ago. It was amazing then, and photos you'll see if you click the link explain why.
