ellocoloco
Has anyone built the Acorn/Mercian LMS Dock Tank?? I bought the model probably around 98/99 and ordered up wheels and motor shortly afterwards. I have never built a brass kit before and for the last 22ish years it has appeared too complicated, but now I feel a bit more confident and more important - I don't really care if I fail......... If anyone has built one it would be great if I have a place to ask for advice? Thanks.
RMweb Gold Ian Simpson Posted November 14, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 14, 2020 Sorry that none of us seem to be able to help. I wonder if the British 1:87 Scale Society forum could help? It's an Io group (British1-87ScaleSociety@groups.io) which contains most of the long-term H0 modellers who will remember the kit. I'm not sure if you need to join the Society to take part, but membership is free (see www.british-ho.com). 1
RMweb Premium 47137 Posted November 16, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 16, 2020 I am sorry I don't know anything about this kit. A few years ago I bought one of the loco builder boxes by Poppy's Woodtech. About half way down the page: http://217.199.187.193/poppyswoodtech.co.uk/4mm.html You want the "medium 00" size for most H0 projects. The box helps chassis assembly enormously, you cannot really fail to get the frames out of true. Well worth buying (usual disclaimer). - Richard. 1 1 1
