Rail Model GC signal box kit

Hi all,

 

just purchased a lot of Killamarsh signal box that I’m going to kitbash a bit to work for the GC extension in the 50s and early 60s to represent the boxes at Woodford, and Culworth Junction. Not seen many/any colour pictures so what colour am I painting the box and any recommendations on the best paints for card/wood please?
