Pierre Le Brun
Having a problem fitting the headcodes. Pealed back the rubber fitting to insert the supplied Dapol headcode. There doesn't seem to be anything inside to hold the headcode in place!
TheEngineShed
I'm doing one as we speak. Cut the headcode blocks down about 1mm on each edge. You can then press them into the window, against the glass on the inside. The paper deforms if they are a slight interference fit. A cocktail stick works wonders to work then in, then a spot of PVA secures them. I use fine scissors to cut them but you can also a ruler and knife... https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/techniques/detailing-the-Dapol-western/
Ross Natoin
Hi, I’m not sure if it helps but on my Dapol class 52 I found the head codes are water slide transfers, I cut mine down to size then slid them onto the outside of the model on the little panels. hope this helps, Ross
RMweb Premium Banger Blue Posted January 19, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 19, 2021 When I did mine, I got a sheet of headcodes off a well known auction site. As they weren’t self-adhesive, I cut the headcodes out and glued them to some thin clear plastic cut to fit the headcode boxes and tacked them in with a dab of adhesive.
Pierre Le Brun
Thanks for your assistance. I glued the headcode on the inside using pva a bit of a fiddly job though. I havent checked if the supplied headcodes are waterslide as it may have been easier to put them on the outside. I will check that out later.
